The Canadian Patent Office Record and Register of Copyrights and Trade Marks, Vol. XLIV, Ottawa, July 31st, 1916: "The Sonophone Company of Canada, Limited, Montreal, Que. Talking Machines and Talking Machine Records. Word: "Sonophone" enclosed in an ornamental border. 21st September, 1916."
The Son-o-phone was sold exclusively by P.T. Legare Company Limited, Montreal, Quebec. The Sonophone Company also made a phonograph labelled Selecto-phone (see Selecto-phone page) which it demonstrated and sold at the H.P. Labelle & Cie store, 149 St. Catherine Street East, Montreal.
