Melmore

Melmore-branded cabinet phonographs were advertised and sold exclusively in Winnipeg, Manitoba between 1919 and 1920, primarily by Stanwood's Limited but also by other music retail stores on Portage Avenue. The October 10, 1919 Stanwood's advertisement reports "We have just received from the East 25 Melmore Phonographs" which typically means that these machines were manufactured in Ontario by companies such as The George McLagan Furniture Co., Ltd., Stratford or The National Table Co., Ltd., Owen Sound or The National Cabinet Company, Toronto.
