Harmonola

There were two phonograph makes in Canada labelled Harmonola. One showed "Harmonola" with the word "Toronto" below. Later, the word "Toronto" was substituted by a small logo. The other make simply showed "Harmonola' in a completely different font.

Talking Machine World, January 1918, p. 39. Toronto, Canada: "The J. Coulter Co., Ltd., are putting on the market the Harmonola, a new cabinet phonograph, to be sold through the jewelry trade in three models."

Canadian Woodworker and Furniture Manufacturer, March 1920, p. 88: "W. J. Patterson, Newmarket, Ont., is manufacturing a line of phonographs, known as "Harmonola Phonographs." These instruments embody many of the newer features and are being sold at very reasonable prices."

Daily Standard (Kingston, Ontario), January 11, 1918, p. 5. The first display ad that I've found for Harmonola mentions "completely Canadian".

The Adams Furniture Company Limited, 211-219 Yonge St., was the exclusive dealer of the Harmonola phonograph in Toronto. They regularly published display ads in the Toronto Daily Star newspaper beginning on April 9, 1920. Their last ad was published in TDS on December 11, 1925. Later in the 1920s, Adams specialized in the sale of Nuphonic phonographs.
