Canadian Furniture World and the Undertaker, April 1917, p. 42: "The Ideal Furniture Co., Ltd., Breslau, Ont., has obtained permission to change its name to the Classic Phonograph Co.. Ltd."

Canadian Furniture World and the Undertaker, May 1917, p. 36b: "CLASSIC" A CANADIAN MACHINE - The Classic Phonograph Co., Ltd., with factory at Breslau, Ont., and salesrooms in the Excelsior Life Building, Toronto, are putting out in the "Classic" a talking machine made in Canada by Canadians. It is built in seven styles in oak and mahogany, and in walnut in the higher grades. These styles range in price from $25 to $255, and all of the machines are guaranteed. The "Classic" has a pleasing and accurate tone, and will play any make of disc record. The motor is noiseless and durable.

Exactly two years later on May 10, 1919, The Globe newspaper (Toronto) reported in its column "At Osgoode Hall" (courthouse) that the Classic Phonograph Company had obtained a winding-up order, "assignee to be interim liquidator". Classified ads in The Ottawa Citizen newspaper in March 1920 offered used Classic phonographs and in May 1921, Stanwood's Limited, Winnipeg, sold Classic phonographs in a manufacturer's clearance sale.
